WiFi QR code: share your network with a scan
Spelling out your WiFi password letter by letter ("capital M, four, underscore...") is a ritual nobody needs anymore. With a WiFi QR code, guests point their phone camera at it and the system offers to join the network automatically. It works on both iPhone and Android with nothing to install.
This generator builds the code entirely in your browser: your network name and password are never sent to any server. The resulting QR is yours forever: download it as PNG or SVG, print it, and stick it by the entrance, on the counter, or in the guest room. It never expires and doesn't depend on this site staying online.

How it works

WPA/WPA2 is the standard on any modern router. If your network is open, choose "No password".

Where to actually stick it
Placement matters more than you would think. In a holiday rental, the best spot is the entrance table or the inside of the wardrobe door: people look for it right as they arrive, while the phone is still in their hand. In a cafe or waiting room, taped to the counter at eye level beats putting it on the tables, because on a table it ends up under a glass.
One detail that saves reprints: do not stick bare paper onto a surface that gets wiped down every day. A cheap acrylic table stand, or laminated paper, survives for months. And keep the SVG file somewhere: when the paper does get ruined, reprinting takes thirty seconds if you have the file and an entire afternoon if you have to generate everything from scratch again.
When the scan does not join the network
It is nearly always the network name. The SSID has to match the one in the phone's WiFi list character for character, including capitals, spaces and accents. If your network is called Smith_House and you typed smith house, the phone goes looking for a network that does not exist and fails without explaining why.
The other two usual culprits are security mode and band. If the router is set to WPA3 only, some older phones cannot join from a QR code: set the router to mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode, which is how most ship from the factory. And if your network splits the bands into two different names, like MyWiFi and MyWiFi_5G, one code covers one of them: generate the one for the 2.4 GHz band, which reaches further and is recognised by every device.
