AnyQR is a project by 5studios, a web product development studio. We don't offer phone or chat support: we're a small team, and email is the channel we can sustain with useful answers.

Before writing: the most common answers

If your code doesn't scan, the cause is almost always one of eight known problems (margin, contrast, size, density, glare, logo, printing or a broken destination). The guide on why a QR code doesn't scan walks through them in order, with the fix for each, and it resolves most of the messages we get.

If you need to change the destination of a code you already printed, that isn't possible: AnyQR codes are static and the content travels inside the pattern itself. The guide on static versus dynamic codes explains the difference and when each one makes sense.

If you're printing large format and don't know what size to use, the print size guide has the relationship between scanning distance and code dimensions, which is the most common question before sending a sign to the printer.

What's useful to tell us

Bug reports are the most useful messages we get. To reproduce a problem it helps to know three things: what type of code you were creating, which phone or browser you tried it on, and what exactly happened when you scanned it. If the code generated but won't read, attaching the PNG or SVG you downloaded saves us half the work.

We also read proposals for new code types. The ones already in the tool came largely from specific requests by people who needed something we didn't cover. If yours is a standard format that phones understand without installing anything, there's a good chance we'll add it.

What we can't do is support another company's equipment. If your problem is with a specific QR reader, a point-of-sale system or the printer, writing to their manufacturer will serve you better than writing to us.

Privacy of what you send us

Emails you send arrive at the 5studios inbox and are used only to reply to you. We don't add them to any mailing list and we don't share them with third parties. If you send us a sample code, keep in mind its content is visible to us: don't send real WiFi passwords or other people's personal data. To report a problem with a WiFi QR, a test network is enough.
